X-Ray Technician
Duties and responsibilities: X-ray technicians take radio graphic images while performing a diagnostic imaging examination. During an x-ray procedure, a technician must position a patient’s body in a specific manner to capture the exact image ordered by the physician. Positioning may require maneuvering, turning and lifting patients with limited mobility.
Salary: $27,739 - $59,153
Education: Some certificate programs in X-ray technology last only six months. However, beginning in 2015, technicians must hold an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in order to be eligible for national certification through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist(ARRT).
